Carnival ("Fluffy") Morris
- NEMDCO {North of England
Morris Dancing Carnival Organisation} links to other sites page
This is a links page for all the currently known Carnival Morris sites, entertainers (the leg-slapping,
gymnastic and tableau-building style of dance also seen at carnivals) Majorettes and carnival bands.
Some of the morris sites listed are new and therefore not on my lists - eg MDMDA, DMDA, TMDA, REMA,
Phoenix (Liverpool) Fusion, Farnworth Carousels, Tameside Emmarettes, Weston Royals and possibly others....

Festivals with a Morris Content
Morris dancing continues to get a very poor billing at nearly all UK
folk festivals. Summed up perhaps by the statement "Take part next year
yourself and experience the many dance styles that are part of folk's rich heritage",
i.e. come along, dance, don't get paid, and maybe get free tickets in return for acting
as stewards. Not too surprising then that morris dancers organise their own meetings,
such as the
Kirtlington Lamb Ale,
and the
Ring's meetings for it's members. The annual
IVFDF meeting {the University dance festival},
and probably the first three on the list below, should be regarded in a different light.
